“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:17-18)
Describing what happens when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, Paul says "the old has gone, the new has come." This declaration of our glorious newness in Jesus Christ is also a message for us as we welcome a New Year – indeed, a new decade in history. God has given us a new beginning filled with new opportunities. As we enter 2010, let us release the past by focusing on Jesus Christ and embracing the hopeful future he brings us.
Like Paul, we at Olivet University are ambassadors of Jesus Christ. It’s an identity and position in which we take heartfelt pride. I want to encourage you in this great endeavor as you put every effort into spreading the Good News of the Gospel in 2010.
God’s blessings for a Happy New Year!
